About the Author

Michael was born on April 2, 1964, in Munich and at age 4 tried to play all the children's songs he knew by ear on his toy piano. At 10 he picked up guitar, at 15 drums, which he says "saved his life" during puberty, and it went on... rock, pop, and jazz singing, electric bass, electric guitar, piano, and various percussion instruments. The joy he felt for music as a child continues to this day, and over time the father of three sons became increasingly aware of his talent for teaching children. The multi-instrumentalist has successfully run the private music school "Die Blechtrommel" in Eurasburg near Wolfratshausen, which he founded, since 1992 with over 120 students, teaches at Drummer's Focus in Munich, and can be heard worldwide live and on various recordings as a drummer and singer with several bands.
