This is made possible by the integrated accompaniment automation, which follows the chords played with the left hand and adapts independently. In total, the Classic Cantabile digital piano offers 230 different styles across a wide variety of music genres.

Chord Fingering Mode and Full Range Mode

Fingering refers to how chords are input into the accompaniment automation. The SP-250 stage piano offers three options. Single fingering allows playing a wide variety of chords by pressing only a few keys. Multifingering controls the accompaniment automation by specifying a complete chord. Full range recognizes chords not only in the left hand area but across the entire keyboard range.

Real Hammer Keyboard with Adjustable Velocity Sensitivity

The SP-250’s keyboard with real hammer action simulates the authentic playing feel of an acoustic piano with traditional mechanics as closely as possible for the pianist. The keyboard is velocity sensitive, meaning the tones sound louder or softer depending on how hard you press a key. With various settings ("Touch Response" = velocity sensitivity), you can, for example, produce a relatively loud sound even with a gentle touch (setting "Soft"). This feature is especially helpful for the youngest piano beginners.

128-Note Polyphony

Full tonal range, even in the most complex piano passages, is guaranteed by the 128-note polyphony. This allows the stage piano to play up to 128 tones simultaneously. Thanks to this repertoire of available tones, players can apply voices from various music styles ranging from classical to rock, even with stereo sound.

The "Dual" and "Lower" Functions

The "Dual" function lets you layer two voices—for example, strings and piano—on top of each other, creating a particularly impressive, full sound. "Lower" allows you to play two separate sounds "side by side." You can define the split point yourself. The right hand plays the preset sound, while the left hand is assigned a different sound via the "Lower" button. This way, you can easily play strings with your left hand and piano with your right.

The "Tune" and "Transpose" Functions

Want to transpose the SP-250 in semitone steps to jam with instruments in different tunings? No problem with the "Tune" and "Transpose" functions! Additionally, the Classic Cantabile SP-250 can be finely tuned via the extensive function menu if the ensemble playing isn’t perfectly in tune.

The SP-250 as a "Twinova Piano"

Another feature of the SP-250 is the ability to split the keyboard into two halves, effectively creating two small, independent keyboards side by side. Unlike "Split," where the keyboard is divided into two zones with different voices, the "Twinova" function creates two separate keyboards with the same scales. You can then play side by side on these two keyboards like two small independent pianos—a great feature for music students and teachers playing together!

Metronome

To help you keep the right beat and tempo while practicing, the SP-250 includes a built-in metronome. Both tempo and volume can be adjusted as desired.

Recording Function

With the recording function, you can record and playback your own playing. These so-called user songs can contain up to six tracks. This feature is perfect for assessing your piano playing progress.

Harmony

A special feature of the SP-250 is the harmony function, which adds various harmony notes to the right-hand tones. This allows harmonic overtones to accompany the played melody notes.

Pitch Bend

Turning the pitch bender lets you bend the currently played notes up or down in real time. When you release the wheel, the original pitch is restored. This gives you even more musical expression and allows you to phrase melodies individually.

Assist Function "Perform"

The Classic Cantabile SP-250 stage piano also features a special assist function. Two sounds are available here: guitar and piano. It’s an easy-to-use function that can make playing more interesting for guitarists and keyboardists. The assistant comes preloaded with many wonderful melody sequences! These can be triggered simply by pressing individual notes. Even inexperienced players can create impressive songs this way.

DSP Effects

The digital effects built into the stage piano allow you to add ambiance and depth to your music in many ways. For example, you can add reverb so the sound feels like you’re playing in a large hall. Or you can add additional harmony notes to achieve a fuller sound.

EQ Effect

The equalizer is a function that influences the gain spectrum to create special effects. The SP-250 offers 5 different EQ types from rock to jazz.

Headphone & Microphone Jacks and Speaker System

The Classic Cantabile SP-250 stage piano features a powerful 20-watt speaker system. These high-quality speakers deliver a dynamic, powerful sound. For silent practice, the piano can also be played through either of the two headphone outputs. Both outputs can be used simultaneously; one output mutes the instrument’s speakers when in use, while the other keeps the speakers active. Another feature of the SP-250 is the ability to connect a microphone.

USB Audio/MIDI Interface

The built-in USB audio/MIDI interface allows you to connect the SP-250 stage piano directly to your computer or MIDI sampler. This lets you use the piano as a master keyboard with all common sequencer programs. Additionally, external devices such as an MP3 player can be connected via the Aux-In jack on the back and played directly through the SP-250’s speakers. These tracks can then be accompanied on the piano simultaneously. The repertoire of beautiful and suitable pieces for practice and play-along is thus unlimited. The piano’s sound can also be recorded directly on the computer.
